Hi all :)

Having split this part off from my Government Buildings mod, I've worked on putting in some further developments to hopefully make dealing with the AI a bit more informed.

The intention was to give the player something to go on when the AI wants to make deals, so is also available when the diplomatic screens come up - unfortunately, I assume that means that it won't work alongside Info Addict as it stands(?).

Although it's most of the way there, there's still some tweeking to do, but thought it would be good to put it out to those that might like to try it ahead of being uploaded to the Workshop :)

File can be downloaded here and will require unzipping in your My Games Mod folder:

zip file

I need to go check how to add pics now...

Unfortunately, I get the wee red cross of doom...

I've uploaded a few screenshots to the same mediafire folder, as well as to the Workshop:

Clicky

whoward69 gave me some pointers on how to ditch the gazillion lines of repetitive code, so that's what I'm sorting atm... although I've managed to break it somewhere in the process

When you say there are conflicts with Info Addict ("Originally part of Government Buildings mod - might NOT work without G&K!
Tested alongside Info Addict, with mixed results. Conflicts likely.") what do you mean?

BPI changes diplomacy screen files, whereas I think IA adds to them.

When I was testing having both enabled at the same time, they both worked, but there was some additional clicking to exit, or needing to hit Esc, so just how well they work together is/was speculative.

Hmm, interesting. Well, I wanted to go through BPI and gut it somewhat and combine it with InfoAddict for my own use, and I was just wondering what kind of conflicts you found.

If the issue is just additional clicking + needing to hit Esc, then I can probably find a way to merge these somewhat easily.

It was a while ago, but from what I can I remember, that's what was happening. I ended up ditching a load of subscribed-to mods with the constant downloading of them, post Fall Patch, which would've been the last time I'd tried both together.

I've done a fair bit of work on it over the past few weeks and I'm not entirely sure whether the version on mediafire is as up to date as the one on the Workshop.

Once a few annoyances are sorted out, there'll be an updated version uploaded in the run-up to Xmas. Assuming I haven't hurled the PC through a window by then :crazyeye:

Its not just hitting the esc' from meeting a new civ it is an issue if you want to do any trade, denouce, or make a friendship.

As in, the screen is messed up (unable to click on trade items etc) or that everything takes several attempts to move in and out of the different screens during diplomacy?

As in: i get the meeting the new civ and can only hit esc to get out. And the AI civ can only ask for a trade with the player. Along with the player can't do any trades with the AI civ...or make peace.
this is the picture i got within this thread:

That is only when Bottom Panel Info is enabled. Hope that helps.

Just to check - is the version you're using from the Workshop, or the mediafire link?

its from the workshop. You updated recently to have the black background. It is still at version 1.

Soon, I hope. I lost a ton of time over Xmas and January, then got bogged down in odd errors. I'll have a look at where it's got to by the weekend and see if it's in a decent position to replace the current one on the Workshop :)

It's working fine this end. Try the updated version and see how you get on. Probably worth verifying game cache etc etc before starting a new game with it enabled.

There's a further update on the way, that cleans a few things up. Hope to get that onto the Workshop in the coming week :)

A few days ago i verified the cache and it was ok.
I just played this mod along with IGE.
Interesting change but the current problem exists.
I show you 3 images.

The deals issue I've fixed, it was just a missing couple of lines of code for when you've met a minor civ, but not a major one.

I'll try to get the fixed version up on Steam asap, though that's a cosmetic, rather than conflict issue that doesn't break the rest of the mod. I've not tried using IGE since it first appeared, so I can only ask whether it's ok when not used together with IGE.

The 2nd pic - is that screen coming up without you clicking on Politics?

The 2nd pic is just by clicking the politics screen. when in that game the AI was making a deal with me. That is the only time the politics button. That is after clicking on the politics button on the options of the i guess graphs or such? Only again while the AI was making deals with me.

I'll use ONLY your mod...

So far by your mod only.
I can not make any deals to the AI.
The AI hasn't made any deals to me and anytime they talk trash or such it is not showing up.
The "DEALS" thing on the bottom only tells me the strenght of the other civs.

Heres a Lua file from the game i just played.
