Does Civ 2 come in a box? Cause I saw it selling on eBay, but it was just a disk set...same question, but for Civ1 and Civnet...

Well, I'm a big fan of looking and not buying. Whenever I go to stores I stand in the computer games aisles and stare at all the array of games, wondering...I would like to get this...this game looks great...I must ask to get this game.

All stores also have a big display of disc games. Just games that have the disc and no packaging. Civilization 2 was selling with just in the CD...

Now the games aren't in a box, just a disc in a jewel case; but when they came out, they were in a box. So at Ebay they sell old versions with the box and in shops they sell new versions in a jewel case, as you would expect.....

Just out of curiosity, do the jewel-case versions still provide The Poster in there (all folded up)? Do they provide the user manual in electronic form?

I can vouch for the double jewel cased version of Civ 2 classic coming with the poster, not sure about the cardboard jewel case version though. Also I have seen CivDOS available in jewel case form but not CivNET.

The latest edition of Civ3, which was out before Christmas, has the classic Civ2 included in the box in a jewel case with the poster neatly folded up to fit. Its still available at Costco for $23.99!!

It appears that the only difference between the box issue and the jewel case issue is the large manual in the boxed edition. In the jewel case, the manual is on the CD and no hardcopy is included. Reduces production expenses!!

And it's cheaper too.

I think when I originally bought Civ II it was in a box. I had to buy a second copy because I misplaced it, so I bought a copy on E-bay, which I think just came in the jewel case along with the manual, but not the advancement graph that came with the original. I didn't need it anyway, because I still had it from the first set.
