Agreed, good job guys and girls! I voted soft atheist because I think that believing in a higher power is a good thing for some people, but I have trouble accepting any type of organized religion. Mostly, I don't like the way that they portray their higher power. I just don't think that any religion's higher power fits in with the state that society is in right now. Sorry if I've offended anyone with this post, but this is just my beliefs, and I hope that it doesn't change anyone's opinion of who I am as a person too much!
That's pretty much what I'm thinking. Civilization is awesome. I love how it portrays religion. First, I'm glad they included religion, because religion has been very important to culture and civilization throughout history. It's caused a lot of division and wars, as well as served to unite people who would otherwise not relate to each other. So, I'm glad they included it. I also like how all the religions are relatively equal, with the timing of their discovery being realistic yet balanced (since the later religions get that nifty free missionary). All in all, I like how religion is portrayed in Civ. Not anti-Christian at all. And the making of monasteries obselete via scientific method makes perfect sense, since the entire basis of learning in monasteries was based on authority instead of reason. Almost all of the learning in monasteries was designed to find out what the authorities said, not to reason things out like in the scientific method. So everything looks good to me.Pbhead said:how is it anti-christian?![]()
