[RR] Brand New Game Refuses To Start (SecureROM)

This morning I received Railroads in the post and immediately installed it. After install was done, I double-clicked on the icon and...

SecureROM wants me to insert the disc. What? Railroads is in the drive. This is a brand new copy of the game: for once, I didn't buy it used. I tried using the launcher in compatability mode, since I'm running Vista. No dice.

I installed the program on another machine, an XP, and..it works, so there's no problem with my disk. I don't know wherein the problem lies, but the physical disk itself is immaculate, and there's no reason why the program shouldn't recognize it. I can't really play the game on my XP machine because it doesn't have a lot of memory; it's sluggish when playing memory-intensive games.

Does anyone know how to get SecurROM to recognize my disk on Vista?

Do you have all the patches installed? I believe one of them fixed some Vista issues, though I don't know if SecuROM is among them (though game issues between operating systems are usually DRM-related, due to modern DRM being rootkit based).

No, I didn't. The problem is more or less resolved now: I found a way to get around SecureRom.
