BtS will not install

I recently attempted to install Beyond the Sword on my computer. I purchased it through the GameStop site's direct download feature. However, after downloading the installer, I try to use the installer, and it simply crashes after selecting the language I want. No error message, anything, it simply ups and crashes. I have exhausted all possibilities, my regular Civ4 is fully patched, my Direct X is up to date, and I've attempted pretty much all combinations of running things as administrator. I'm running Vista 32x. If anyone could shed any sort of light on the situation, I would greatly appreciate it.

Have you tried running the installer in XP compatability mode as well as as administrator?

I doubt if it will make any difference if you've already tried running the installer as administrator. Can you get any assistance from GameStop? Being in the UK I don't seem to be able to access any of their support pages.

that's something I haven't tried, thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to try it when i get off work. As for Gamestop, they have a 48 hour money back guarantee, so if worst comes to worst I can probably return it and buy the disc version or something

was civ4 also from gamestop? if not that would likely be the reason.

Hello, I recently had this same problem. I contacted gamestop, and they said that the digital version of bts only works if you have the digital version of civ4 installed on your computer. For me, I had the CD version installed, and just requested a refund and bought the actual game through amazon (pretty cheap there, got it for $10 new, some for $4 used).
