Bugged Camels?

From Marbozir's stream here -- camels gave a +3 vs +2? Feels like a weird bug. I checked tooltip in his game, so it's not some bonus for game speed being faster than standard. Any ideas?

Editing my OP and answering my own question -- the camels must give a net +2 not just +2 (net +1) and appear to be even stronger than I thought.
