Calculating Victory in Rise of Rome?

Can anyone tell me how scoring is done/winning determined if you don't get a domination victory? That is, is the scoring different from the default scoring based on happy citizens and land, where Persia starts witha huge advantage?

It looked like victory points accumulated for differnt things like destroying units and taking cities -- are these calculated into the score when you hit f8?

There are no victory points in RoR; score is calculated just like in the Epic Game. Yes, this makes Persia very difficult to beat at high difficulty levels, especially for Carthage and Rome.
