Just curious what kind of heroes people have managed to build over the course of their games. My best so far is a Saverous I got when I was a backwards 3-city Lunan. From there Saverous pretty much conquered the rest of the pennisula, with my meager army as support. So far the only things to stand up to him recently was a Treant in an ancient forest, and that mounted hero from Feral Bond. Anyway with the final city on the pennisula captured these are his stats: http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/185/scourgeofmahalaaw6.jpg (I renamed him Scourge of Mahala, in honor of his conquering five Doviello cities.)

I got Alkazan the Assassin up to level 21. You can see a pic in this thread:

Nice work with Saverous. I don't use him that often. He is available pretty early, so I can see where he could really rage on some nearby cities in the early game. I've used Banbur to much the same effect before.

I often get several heroes that are far more impressive than that; of course, I cheat a lot. ;)

I've had Yvain up to insanely high levels. I don't even check most of the time, though a few games I've run out of useful upgrades for him.

Vampires can obviously bump the levels up really easily, but Yvain is probably the easiest and best hero around. He's got a very high limit on strength, and you can get him mid-game. His effective strength is usually between 40 and 50 for the Svart.

IMHO: Hemah is the best (archmage), then Yvain (life high priest + summoner) because you get druids with his tech and Kithra on the way. Third best is Sphener (life high priest).

My highest xp heros were probably Grigori Shadows. They never defend and they always hit the weakest unit - and they are str10 combat5 (with orthos' axe it gets ugly). I've yet to see the AI use a hawk or sand lion to ruin their fun.

Alazkan the Assassin lvl33

Screen right after conquest. The map type helped a bit.
Also had Orthus Axe and the thing from Hyborem but not on this shot

He did pretty much did all the work in the conquest victory :)

Got one in progress. Had a Scout given the Hero promotion from the event and after upgrading to Hunter he has accumulated 166 EPs as of turn 150. I've kept him at level 3 in anticipation of the arrival of Govannon, planning to go Druid once he gets some nice Sorcery spells.

I thought the exp cap was 999.

Nice world with a lot of cities BTW. Alkazan at level 33...good job!

Well, it's not a hero, and it's in regular civ, but in an OCC AW game I got an infantry with over 1200 xp. This was because immortal AI's were throwing dozens of units at it every turn.

The cap for xp retained after upgrading is 999 in FfH (10 in vanilla/warlords/BtS), but I'm not sure there is a limit to how much xp a unit can have overall.
