Can anyone help me with something in the Sims 2?

I'm trying to recreate my childhood home that I lived in in the 1990's, in the Sims 2. While the tutorials for garages works fine if the whole house has a foundation; the house I lived in, had a central elevation, due to resting on a slight hill, resulting in two stairways, one to the upper level and the other to the basement, both in the entry room, seen in the pictures (the stairs are yet to be added). I tried to add the ground level doors, but they don't work, as seen on the lower parts of the images.

How do I get them to appear and work right? This is Sims 2, all EP's plus M&G.

Only thing I remember from Sims 2 is that the move_objects on code is basically required for creative building, however door placement is usually messed up with it. Try toggling it and see if the door is placed right.
