Can Civ3 be made work faster by a "ramdisk"?

Did anyone tried configuring a ramdisk to run Civ3 faster? As you know it takes a lot of time between the turns on a huge map with lots of civs. Maybe a ramdisk be a solution. :crazyeyes
 
Probably not. A ramdisk is useful if you have many hard disk access, because RAM has far better access time than hard disks. Civ3 doesn't use the HD that much except when you load a ne game. Only more RAM and a faster CPU will improve speed in CIV3.
Should I add optimized code to this list too? :rolleyes:

No kidding. I am thinking about moving my magazine rack from the bathroom to my computer desk. I turned off animations so my workers just "disappear" now while on automation and it seems to have shortened the wait time.
