Can Civ4 work on my woefully underpowered laptop?

I haven't bought a PC game in five years but from what I hear this game is worth it, and I am a Civ fan from way back in the day. Anyway, here are my stats:

Dell Latitude D600
Pentium M 1.4 Mhz
ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 w/32 MB DDR
512 MB RAM

I realize the 32 MB doesn't meet the listed requirements but I figured it was worth checking on the small chance that maybe someone has gotten it to work on a system like mine b/c I really want the game.

Thanks.

Get at least a gig of RAM, and it should play on the lowest graphics settings and it should play.

Although the intro movie and wonders movie may not play or may stutter!

Civ 4 is not very Laptop friendly, but it is doable..

Donload the demo and play the heck out of the demo first to see how much your machine can take. :)

Okay, thanks. I didn't even know there was a demo, so I'll give it a shot. I don't really want to play if it just runs like absolute crap but if it's workable (run in a window, lowest settings) speed-wise then great.

Hi astrolad, I'm on the same system as you and the game does work fine. The framerate isn't amazing, but its still highly playable in my opinion.
