Can not get 3.19

I looked at the other threads and tried that method. It would freeze up and fail. Any help?

What version of Civ 4/BTS do you have? eg: Seperate discs? Complete? Downloaded version?
What is it currently patched to?
What OS do you have?

Complete, 3.17, Windows 7

Make sure that you download the patches outside of the gam and do not use the in-game patcher.
Always right click on the patch file and use run as administrator to install it.

If it is a download version you must get the patch from the place you downloaded the game from.
If it is a disc version you can download the patch from the downloads database here.
Try re-downloading if you have already downloaded it incase the download was corrupted.

If 3.19 will still not install some people (but only a few) have found that re-installing the 3.17 patch will allow 3.19 to install.

Well, I re-downloaded it and ran it as admin and it failed again. How do you uninstall 3.17?

Does 3.19 give any error messages?
Have you updated your directx? If not it may be worth trying that first. Install the most recent version of DirectX 9c from Microsoft

If you try re-installing 3.17, don't un-install, just re-install over the top.
You may have to try a total re-install.

Ok, got the patches installed, and it said something to the effect of: Machine below recommended specs, options have been changed. The initial loading screen when I launch the game is now white with text and the loading bar on it, but otherwise it is normal. Anyway to fix this without a new pc?

The below recommended specs can be ignored, it appears on very high spec machines. You can get rid of it by changing your .ini file - look for the line hideminspecwarning=0 and change the 0 to 1 (or 1 to 0 if I have remembered it the wrong way around).

You'll have to reset your graphics options in the game. I often just get the blank loading screen too. It doesn't affect the game.
