My fiance and I have enjoyed playing Civ VI multiplayer games both via iPad and Windows installs while on vacation.
We purchased a travel router, connect to it and we were able to play as a local network game.
Sometime in the last few months both the iOS and Windows versions of the game added an age check and, if you cannot connect to the 2K servers to pass the age check, it won't let you create a local multiplayer game (you get stuck at "Confirm Settings").
This is an issue that other people at Reddit have found as well but I cannot get past Tier 1 support at 2K.
Does anyone know if there is a manual patch we can do to bypass age verification for LAN games?
