Cannot enable mods after patch?

I'm encountering an issue with mods as well, but a little different. I can enable them (which hadn't worked for me prior to this), but they seem to have no effect. I installed and enabled a Carthage civ and a Spanish civ mod and started a game and the new civs aren't showing up.

I know I'm probably overstating the obvious, but from the SS, it looks like the game thinks there is multiple mods in effect. Try making sure that previous versions are disabled or deleted.

Deleting cache did not work for me. I have Queen of Iceni and Extra Civs loaded. No additional civs show up in the drop down when setting up a game.

Also, none of the new civs show up in WorldBuilder--only the original civs. Strangely, the new civ colors and names DO show up in the color drop down in the Scenario window.

Yeah, I made a tiny quick little mod just changing the cost of an archer to test and it had no effect with the new patch. Archers should have cost more but they cost the same as always.

Interesting... so I have deleted my cache, deleted duplicate mods, verified my files, but for some reason some of the new civ files (Australia, Carthage, and Portugal) don't work, but the Venice mod does... how does that happen?

Call me perplexed.

I wonder if something changed in the code for civs and that's why they aren't working anymore.

Jaldaen, your right the Venice mod does work but none of the others do, this is very strange what does that have that the others dont?

Its time to bring out Sherlock Holmes me thinks........

Has anybody else had any luck yet getting mods to work, especialy new civs?

Riker13,

That's good to know... I don't have much free time this weekend to do the sleuthing, but hopefully someone can figure it out for us. ;)

I just can't figure out what's going on post-patch. I whipped up another little test. I made a mod that should make the range on Chu-Ko-Nus 4 (just to test if it works) and altered the Civilopedia text for it at the same time, against just to test. The Civilopedia text changes but the range does not! I don't understand it.

Oh, if I change the range on Cho-Ku-Nos from 2 to 4 in the actual game file using a text editor, it works just fine as you'd expect. It's just using ModBuddy that doesn't seem to work.

I used steam to verify the local files and it found a couple mismatches and redownloaded the files, my mods work fine now. So it must have just been a hiccup on download causing my issue.

Will updated mods work with non patched versions ?
