Cannot find

I downloaded vanilla cIV from direct2drive and then bought a hard copy of warlords and when I try to install warlords, it say it cannot find Civilization 4! I made sure that the file was located in C: Documents and Settings,Program Files....

Anyone know how to fix this?

Sadly, there's no real fix for this, the versions are not compatible.
I guess there's theoretically the option to hack into the registry (if this is the only issue here, which i'm not sure about), but that's dangerous and will maybe not fix the problem.
