Cannot locate DVD Any Ideas?

I have tried installing the game on an old computer, I did not really expect it to work. What I did not expect is for the security check on the DVD to fail. It comes up with the error looking just like http://www.2kgames.com/civ4/support_cannotlocate.htm There is definatly the DVD in the drive, and I have taken it out, moved it about, checked it is clean etc. It installed fine just before.

This is with a new DVD from amazon UK ordered pre release.

The computer is an old Pentium (2?) Celeron 466MHz dual procesor with an oldish gameing graphics card and no sound card. The DVD drive is a burner.

Any Ideas?
