I stumbled across this program last night ...to be honest I don't really know how it works other than that it uses different math formulas
it doesn't even take a whole 30 seconds to download

Nice, I've always liked looking at fractals even before I understood a bit about how they work, they take a simple bit of maths and then repeatedly produce it but with a regular decrease or increase in ratio say 4/3 untill you get a hugely complicated pattern. Nature uses fractals, unconciously of course in frond design of ferns. The amazing thing is the actual initial calculation can be something extremely simple but the results are anything but.
