Hello Die Hard Civ 5 Fans:

I am playing Egypt and have 10K on Faith and on turn 1000 + and still I have never been able to find a Religion all game. I built a monument and shrine early on in the game. Does this happen to others. Also playing Egypt you get the 20 % bonus in building Wonders. Does not feel this way to me. Playing on Marathon.

Any thoughts.

The only 2 things I can think of are:

1) The limit of Religions has been reached so you're unable to found your own.

2) You've reached the Industrial Era and can no longer automatically spawn a Great Prophet. You'll need to manually purchase one in order to found a Religion.

1500 turns Marathon = 500 turns Standard

Most likely the maximum number of religions was founded long ago, so your faith is just being banked away. Go to the Religion Overview screen and click on Work Religions -- it will probably state (at the bottom) that 0 more religions can be founded.

But your faith is far from useless -- once you have a religion in any of your cities (doesn't matter what religion or what city, as long as it's not a puppet), you can buy great persons with faith (which GPs you can buy will depend on what social policy trees you've completed -- e.g., completing Rationalism for Great Scientists, Commerce for Great Merchants, etc.)

All great thoughts. I forgot if I had a Pantheon. As strange as it sounds. I was guessing that all religions had been taken. Celts were my continents and were spawning my cities like crazy. So even if I had found a religion my cities would most likely been converted. I know I can use these Faith Points for buying so I know it's not wasted. Will look closer at the game when I get back to it.

Put inquisitors in your cities if you don't want to be converted.

BTW, Egypt's wonder building bonus is only for ancient/classical wonders. And that stacks with a working marble quarry, a particular pantheon and a Traditional social policy. But if you're playing a high difficulty level, forget it.

No no, Egypt's bonus applies to all wonders, as does Aristocracy in Tradition. But Marble and that pantheon only apply to ancient/classical wonders, yes.

Religions should eventually get to your cities. If you didn't build a religion, then you could bet that a religion will eventually get to your cities. If a religion doesn't get to your cities then you are running vanilla civilization 5 or something.

Nope, the Bonus from Tradition and Egypts UA are not restricted to ancient/classical wonders, only marble and the pantheon (Monument of the Gods) are.

/edit: Oh, way too late. :/

Well, modern wonders like the Pentagon aren't exactly made out of marble, so it makes sense, doesn't it? :)
