I've been searching through these boards for a solution that someone posted a while ago to solve my problem, but I haven't found anything. So I'd like to present my problem to the boards.

Basically what happens is I've set my computer to DMZ host on my router which you can see in these two pictures below:

I found it strange that civ 3 should even care about access to the internet if you're trying to play a LAN game, but whatever I gave it a shot anyways. So I fire up the game and click on Multiplayer -> LAN -> Host and I am put into the game setup screen where it lists all the players and their civilizations, as well as all the settings for the game. However, at this screen nothing happens, and I can't change anything. Not even my own name shows up in the playerlisting. I've even included a video to try to give someone out there an idea of exactly what is going on.
Video of problem

Walking through the video with you, you see that it starts in the game's main menu. I then click on Multiplayer, LAN, and once I'm in the gamespy screen I click on Host. It then puts me into the game setup screen where, if you look closely, you can see that all the player slots read as OPEN. In the video you can barely see my cursor clicking around the screen to try to toggle different options just below the player listing on and off, however I can't change them. I also clicked on the Game Limits button near the bottom left, but was unable to change anything in there. Just before I CTRL-ALT-DEL'd to shut the game down I tried to click the X in the bottom right a few dozen times to close the game, but it did absolutely nothing (forcing me to CTRL-ALT-DEL to close the game), and that's where the video ends.

If someone has a solution to this please let me know. My dad and I would like to play together, and right now the only way we can play together is if we both join someone else's hosted game, but often times we just wanna play us two and not with other people on the internet.

Very weird problem, internet play works fine (except if one of us hosts, the other person can't see the game in the game listing, direct IP doesn't work either) but LAN doesn't. We can both play together in the same game at the same time as long as someone else on the internet is hosting.

Help?
