Looking at my screenshot, you would think that I am starting the game as Ada Lovelace of Egypt, right?
WRONG!
I started the game and was surprised to find that I was Pachacuti leading the Mayans? How did this happen?
If you get to this screen, click "advanced options", then click "reset defaults" (regardless if you made any changes or not), the game silently reverts you back to the default settings for leader/civ/age/etc. The setup screen shown below does not get updated. Whatever is under "advanced options" overrides everything you see on this final screen.
Edit: a bit more testing shows why this bug manifests. The information on the main screen updates only when you manually change settings in the advanced options. Change your leader there, and you can see the main screen change in the background. Change your Civ and it changes on the main screen. The simple fix is to not have the main screen change until the player clicks “accept” (or whatever it’s labeled) instead of changing it on the fly.
