Can't Install Civ 4 on Windows 7

Well, here's the deal: I cannot seem to be able to install Civ 4 into a windows 7 computer. The installation process would always get stuck while trying to install the file containing Manhattan Project. It seems as if data 2 cabinet has been somehow corrupted.

Yes, I did try copying the entire CD and pasting it into the hard drive. That didn't work either because it couldn't copy the data 2 cabinet.

What should I do?

Try cleaning the disc.
Try using a different drive if you have one.
Try copying the disc contents on another machine if you have one and transfer across to yours to install.
If it's a new disc take it back to where you bought it for a replacement, otherwise you'll probably have to go for a new copy.

Doesn't work. It seems that data2 is throughly busted...
