Can't Load MOD

Recently we bought a new computer, and we wanted to install CIV IV BTS on it. Unfortunately, the disk was scratched, so we couldn't install it. So I copied it over from the old computer on my thumb drive. Now everything works perfectly except for the mods. When I go to the advanced section, and click 'load a mod' I see the list of mods, but when I select it and click OK, the game shuts down. I know this is what usually happens, but after that the mod never loads.

Any ideas? I really want to try out some of the mods.

Try creating a shortcut to the mods, so that they launch directly. To do this copy your BtS shortcut, then add mod="ModName" to the end of the target path (For reference on my computer, LoR's desktop shortcut has this as the shortcut: mod="LoR"), obviously ModName needs to be the name the mod's folder. Also most well made mods have installers at this point, which should give you the option to add shortcuts to directly launch the mod.

I tried it, but I couldn't get it. I made a shortcut, and then went into properties. Then into the target I typed in the mod= and the mod name. When I loaded it up BtS still came on. Am I doing something wrong?
