Can't load saves

Before anyone asks, yes, I verified the cache. I keep getting the message "Steam cache integrity has failed, will reacquired." Somehow this doesn't happen, and when I go to play I can't load any saves, since they insist I don't have DLC they require. I do have DLC, and some of my saves were made before I downloaded DLC. How is this fixed? I'm not getting anywhere with Steam.

You have to keep varifying until it says, "All files succesfully varified". It is not uncommon for multiple file corruptions, especially after a major update and adding DLC. If the saved game did not have any DLC, it should still load, but I have seen iffy situations and have not been able to load certain saved games due to DLC.

I heard back from Steam, and I essentially "nuked it from orbit" and reinstalled. Works so far, hope I don't have to keep doing this.
