Cant load this one save game?

Hey, I was playing Civ 4 on a large map with all civs in the modern era. Eventually after playing late into the game the game suddenly froze. So I closed it with Ctrl-Alt-Del and now whenever I try to load the save I was on the game crashes while it's loading. Any help?

It will not load for me either on BTS 3.19. Have you got the autosave from the start of the turn?

How do I get the autosave files?

In my case there is a + next to the single directory, expand this and it will show auto and quick (My Games\Beyond the Sword\Saves\single\auto). You'll find the autosaves in the auto directory. I'm not sure what the default is for how often it autosaves as I long ago set it for every turn, but there should be a fairly recent one in there. Load it as you would load any save.

All I have are autosaves for a new game I started. Does the autosave save over my original autosaves the previous game?

I think as default it only keeps the last 10 and the last starting save.

So I move my infantry and my game freezes. And now I can never play this save file? 3 days of my life wasted. Thats bull . Good job sid meier, good job.

I always have 2 save files, one for when Im abotu to make a risky decision that might affect my game negatively. I reloaded that file, and played, the same thing happened a gain. Once again, I cant play the save game cause it's crashing. What the hell.
