Can't seem to download the file

Thank you, you can take it down after four hours from this post. I just begin to download it because I had lost internet connection yesterday.
 
Sadly, I had to take it down now. I don't know if it's you or not, but *someone* is using a download manager that feels a need to send multiple requests for the file... about FIFTEEN TIMES A SECOND, even though it's getting rejected each and every time, causing my computer to freeze up almost completely.

Please, people, that's just a bad idea any way you look at it.
 
:( BCalchet, I didnt know it was bad to use a download manager. I was using one. So it is probably me. If I knew it was going to do this, I would've disable the download manager. Will you still put it on? I won't use the download manager.
 
Download managers as such are not bad, but some do that terribly annoying request spam thing, which makes my poor computer lock up, more or less - the file is back up now, and will remain so for a while or until it happens again.
 
0.22 is out - will mirror that instead, once I have it.
 
any update on that mirror? :)

my original 0.22 download crashed halfway thru, and the speed now seems dreadful..
 
You'll never get very good speeds from my mirror - it's pretty much only there for those who can't download from 3ddownloads in the first place.

it is a bit slower ur right.. maybe i will use a download manager on the real file so if it crashes again i wont have to start over, which was my main concern
 
zoot, just dont use download manager. I had the same concern as you, but we'll have to respect our provider there. :)

Two times the download is incomplete. It took the whole night for one download and the next thing I see is that it is incomplete. So I was kinda sad on that.

Is there any download manager that will not mess up your computer?
 
As I said, download managers are fine, as long as they don't attempt to open multiple connections per second, hour in and hour out. I'm sure you can configure their settings to only open, say, a single connection.

This may be too late to help you(atleast this time) but If you are sitting in the little pop-up download queue window, and its reporting 3-4 minutes, and it isn't auto refreshing, or decreasing, your security settings for your browser may be set too high. I have the same problem, though i can't tell you which setting it actually is to correct the problem, since i just got fed up and used a friends computer, then burned it to cd(it's about 6 settings i turn off that it wants on, and i only made it to about 4 before my patience was exhausted). though if you reset it to low it should work(but only do this as long as you are able to restore your settings after you download). this should be a respectable site that should be safe, as long as you remember to turn it back on before going elsewhere.

at the very least, its popup blocker, active scripting, and script active x controls marked as safe for scripting(if i remember correctly) but thats all i discovered(and remember atleast)

and if you have no idea what i'm talking about, or if i am completely off base feel free to ignore me.
 
Bah humbug! Neither the main download or Bc's mirror is working for me...


I'll try 'em again tommorow I guess.
