Hi everyone,

I've been away of modding and civilization for a while, I may come back full time for civ6 (and will try to deal with a bit of unfinished business for civ5 if I can, I'm really sorry about that :(), but before I've made a very quick mod with a few lines of code to warm me up and I'm wondering if someone already made it so that I don't post a duplicate...

So, has anyone already made a mod to make the civ5 caravans build roads on their path ?

edit: seems not, so here's the mod:

Works just fine for me. I'm not using a custom dll.

You may have to address the road maintenance gold-cost per plot.

Apparently the Caravans (probably Cargo Ship as well) do trigger UnitSetXY.

The return of the prophesied hero Gedemon - truly, a sign of the coming end of the fifth era.

Anyways, it's great to see you're back :).

Yes. Interesting exploit to bankrupt an AI ... build a city on their border, send a caravan from it to their furthest city, and laugh as their economy takes the hit of 1 gold per turn per road segment for the rest of the game. After approx. 30 turns redirect the caravan somewhere else for even more economic warfare!

It would require a custom DLL to tune that (like making it unowned on another civ's territory) as SetPlayerResponsibleForRoute() isn't accessible from Lua.

How about just removing the maintenance cost for roads altogether, road-spam be damned?
