CCF3 -- C3C Monarch

One of the more ;) violent ;) ones... please, NO CULTURAL victory, I hate it. I guess that if we get that far we can go for space race... that'd be ok... but i'd like to aim (I'm pro-MSN, so I dont mean AOL Instant Messenger, lol) at conquest or domination.

Pre flight check:

I look at the map and am a little amazed that we have explored so much! I didn't get that impression from reading the previous reports. I guess I am amazed that we have explored that much, and yet only have five cities. And small ones too. I check in with the various leaders. That bum Khan has writing, but won't trade it. Greedy. The rest are behind us or at parity with us. I decide to hold off on trading. We are studying math, so maybe I can wait to learn that, and see if Khan will trade us for it. I'd like to grab philosophy, so we can get the free tech. Maybe gun for the GL, so we can focus on military and not on research. I see a couple of our southern cities don't have a MP, so I send a warrior from Oporto to Emerita, because it will soon have a barracks to upgrade him. I see the settler, but am not sure what the best location will be for him. I know he's to grab the iron, but not sure where will be the best location. I send an archer from Oporto to explore the little dark patch to the west of Oporto. I send the spearman from Lagos to escort the settler, as I'd like to move the warrior down to pop the hut I see on the southern coast. Everything else looks good, and I don't change any city production, and there isn't enough going on to MM. Hit Enter....

IBT -
Lisbon's culture expands. See some other nation's troops move around a bit.. Nothing else

1475BC - workers complete road piece nw of lisbon, move them to finish connecting Lagos.
Warrior in Lisbon on his way to Guimaraes. Explore a bit more with our outlying scouts and warriors... See a French scout, and ask him to take me to his leader. We have been introduced to Joan. We are up wheel and math and she doesn't have any money. It was a short meeting.

IBT - just see some a few scouts move

1450BC - Check in on the leaders. Khan wants all our gold and math for writing. Bah. We are still up or even with everyone else. We discover Math. Hmm.. what to switch to. I don't like researching something the AI already knows, but if we're going to make a beeline for philosophy/Lit, we need Khan to give up his monopoly. Construction seems like a good target, but it's 31 turns out. I set to writing, due in 12. Explore some more. Finish some worker projects and set them on new roading projects

IBT - Mongol scout shows up outside of Guimeres. Our warrior who just moved from Lisbon waves from his defensive position. German archer turns around and comes back towards us..

1425BC -
Oporto Spearman -> worker
Keep exploring and building roads around our cities. Move our archer to be in a position to counter attack the german archer if he gets frisky. Start worker building road to connect our iron town. Nothing new on the trading front, although Khan will now sell us writing for math and 70 gold. I see we are running at a deficit, so decide against it.

IBT - german archer moves away again. Think he's just trying to make me nervous. We look forward to smashing him soon.

1400BC - explore, and continue road towards our soon to be iron city.

IBT - German archer still circling our territory.

1375BC
Road from lisbon to Lagos complete. Sagres founded next to iron, in a position to have 2 BGs when it expands. Begin work on Temple to expand faster. Warrior pops the goody hut, and we get maps. Start some irrigation projects. Celts have writing now. They won't trade. Chinese also have writing and math. Hmm.. we don't have a monopoly on math anymore and Khan is willing to trade writing for math and all his gold.. only 4, but it we are still running at a defecit and it will basically give us a free turn. I take the deal before he gets math from one of the three others who have it, and begin Philosophy due in 9. Wait, Khan already knows philosophy (damn) and map making. Woah. We're behind! Switch to Literature due in 15. We are ahead or parity with everyone else, but no one has any money.

IBT - Volcano on northern part of contintent becomes active. Nobody is near enough to be effected though. Damn German archer is still shadowing us. I feel like he's probing our defenses.

1350BC - workers working, get a warrior in Guimeres. Lisbon will finish temple in 2 and grow to 5 in 5.

IBT - Zzzz

1325BC - continue working and building road to Sarges.

IBT - ZZzz - couple civs are starting wonders

1300BC - Start chopping a forest north of Emeritus. Lisbon completes temple. Now I could start on a wonder as a prebuild for GL. Lit due in 12. But we are going to have happiness troubles there soon, unless we slow down our research. So i decide to build a MP spearman first. Due in 3

IBT - ZZzz

1275BC - continue working. No changes on the diplomatic front.

IBT - Joan asks us to leave. I say ok. I can get out of her territory next turn.

1250BC Workers chop near Emeritus which helps complete its barracks. Switch to spearman.

My first turn in my first SG. Hope I didn't do anything too wrong. I kinda feel like the trade to the Mongols was a bad idea, but he would have gotten math anyway from someone else and already has a big lead on us. Comments/critiques welcome! Uploading save now.

Looks good. :goodjob:

I'll not be able to take it tomorrow, so please skip me if needed.

Portuguese have a huge advantage in early exploration-to bad all the AI's started next to each other or we could have made a killing selling contacts, probably. I'm not sure how the Mongols got so advanced so quickly; they must have gotten very good goody huts or something. Too bad about math.

I'd recommend taking out Bismark ASAP. He tends to hold a grudge, and, whatever our eventual path towards victory, we'll need to expand. A confrontation with the Mongols may be inevitable; they're right next to us and are getting pretty strong.

dhorse is probably right but we dont want to rush into a war too early, i reccomend jsut expanding and building up as long as we can, then declaring war once we have the resources to do it.

I agree that we need to build up before taking on Bizmark. But right now he only has 3 or 4 cities if I remember correctly. His tech lead fortunately, hasn't provided him any advanced combat troops that I know of. I think we need to build up and hit him fast before he gets too much time to entrench. He also has several sources of Ivory, and letting him get the SOZ will make things considerably harder. I say we get the ball rolling on war preparations and hit him, secure our new lands and explore. If we focus on getting the GL, then we can not worry about maintaining 100% science.

Pardon?
Do you mean the game is on hold? How about we just skip you on the rotation?

Of course, if you're grounded you might not me alowed on the computer and therefore have no way of answering.

What does everyone else think we should do?

is it CCF's turn? if not i say we jsut continue with out him, if it is his turn then i say we give him a day to respond to that and if he doesnt i say someone else can take the turn

Hmm... wonder what he did to get grounded...:mischief:;)

I dunno what we do. All the same to me.

my parents r out... dont tell... ;)

umm... please, continue the game w/o me. I dont know when i'll be back... ill check on it when/if I can... no early war... we dont have our UU yet... but neither do the Germans... oh well.

just expand like crazy, keep those settler factories pumping out settlers...
