Cd/DVD emulation problem

I have recently installed CivIV. The installation went fine but when I try to run it I get this messsage.

I do not have any CD or DVD emulation programs currently running and I've uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing happens.
Can anybody help?

Do you have genuine SCSI device attached to your PC, including SCSI/UltraATA card? That will trigger the popup. You could 1) disconnect either all of SCSI or IDE devices, 2) use SD4Hide.

I have the same problem, although here my game does work just after a reboot, but not after the computer has been running for a while. The game didn't give any problems with the vanilla version or the 1.09 patch. I do not have any SCSI devices installed. I do use virtual drives but even with those disabled it still gives the error.

I've actually gotten all of my installation problems worked out.
I cannot wait to fire up Civ for the first extended period of time.

i am currently haveing this error show up, i have updated to 1.52 and gone so far as trying to disabel my dvd burner in the device profile, and all to no avail, as well as trying sd4hide

any help would be nice

ok I fugiered out my problem and I had to uninstall Clone-CD so if you have this problem try that

what a crock that is, removing particular software that i happen to use on my computer???????

someone is GONNA HAVE to explain the mentality behind that one to me

Complain to Firaxis/Take 2 that you do not like to deinstall software in order to play your legally bought game.
