CD problem (again)

Hi all,

I read all the posts but I have not been able to find a solution for the "Please insert Civilization CD...".
I am running XP and the original game was installed from drive G; after having installed patch 1.21f, I was no longer able to run the game (it asks for the CD)
I checked the registry but the CD_Patch already contains the correct drive (G).
When I start the game the CD drive starts then the message is shown.
I removed the patch but I am still having the same problem with original version!!!

I have the Italian version of the game. Could this cause the problem?

Could anybody tell me how to solve this problem?

Same thing happened to me. I only fixed it by unistalling and then reinstalling in the new drive.

I had different troubles and the solution is to:

- uninstall the patches (do not forget this!!)
- uninstall the game
- reboot
- install game
- install patch

I do not know if there is trouble if you only install 1.21, so maybe you`d have to do 1.16 and then 1.21 - this worked fine for me!

How do you uninstall just the patch ?

use the Windows thing for installing software. I don`ßt know in english it should be. Don`t know in French, sorry

"Start-->settings-->system" then choose "Software" and uninstall the patches (they have their own icons)

I have tried but it doesn't work (only uninstalling 1.21f because it is the only patch that I have.)
Do you think I have to try 1.16 before?

Any help on this topic would be greatly appeciated!
