Have you tried the hat I sent you? With that one and some other clothing props you could make his clothes look like the ones depicted in every picture of him.

Now, onto the previews you posted: I'm not very fond of his ancient era look. It clashes violently with the image he has on the next era, especially since it doesn't look like the same person (too young face, very little facial hair, totally different clothing). Also you could try making his hair colour the same in both eras (or get them as close as you can. On the first era it looks like it is quite blondish)

Military Leaders: Montcalme
Salibury

Scientific Leaders: Bishop Lavale
Joseph Armand Bombardier
Mordecai Richler
Pierre Radisson

Unique Unit: Voyageur (a kind of explorer with some attack and defense, and can build fortresses)

By the way: his title should be 'Governor' not 'Governator'

EDIT: More on the Voyageur here

I strongly SECOND this UU! ;) :)

And, since we're talking Quebec here, the title should be in French: "Gouverneur" instead of "Governor" or "Governator" (Aahnold speak for "governor")!

I didn't received your files :( , maybe u sent to my old address, the currently on that I'm using is just "civarmy" + "@terra.com.br" no more "civ_army_1994". U also could try sent to my hotmail address "civarmy plus @ plus hotmail.com"
I choice Iroquoi warrior for ancient era cos it was a request, well, the face has the same characteristics, maybe the beard of the Middle Age turn his face so different. And I tottaly agree about the blondish hair, I must fix it ;)

@Corvex: thanks for the suggestions :)

@all: I need suggestions too:
- Bonuses
- Changes and additions on the city list
- Civilopedia entry
- There is space for more two Military leaders
- If someone know the link of the units that could be used like the Voyageur, please, post here.

Sorry, I don't know much about Québec :( . But you're not really going to call him Governator, are you :) ? That's just the nickname of Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'm sure you mean Governor.

I changed to Gouverneur :)

Oooh, if there's a Voyageur UU, he should have a canoe! (Darn, I know that won't work, but voyageurers go voyageuring in canoes! :()

the voyageurs also would carry canoes whenever they could not navigate the rivers or streams, so you could conceivably make a UU carrying a canoe or something :)

i've added a few larger cities, and made some corrections... i don't really know that much about some of the cities you have listed, especially the ones with indigenous names, so i can't really comment on them... the problem is they seem to outnumber the cities with french names

if i find the time, i will try to research some more and put up a revised list

@Jonatas: thanks for the suggestions on the city list. And I really don't know how to do a unit that carries a canoe, but I'll try :)

@Jorde: I received your e-mail, but I decided use the old hat. Check, the hat that u sent me is in the industrial era after been deformed.

@all01: I have new preview in post number 1.

@all02: I'll check if I found the UU ever done, in case it was not, I can try do one myself using the TopGun draw as reference.

@all03: what do u think about these bonusest to Quebec: scientific and industrious?

I have been the one who has requested Champlain as an LH.

I am a bit disappointed that every one seems to think that it should be a Quebec Civilization. I would use it a Canadian LH as he settled Nova Scotia first and the Quebec settlements came later. I know that Quebec is important, but I think that Canada needs a decent LH.

I guess bottom line, everyone can use him the way they want, but the Primary city in my game will be Port Royal (the First permamant european settlement in Canada).

And if you are going to use a native as the first LH in the ancient times, it shouldn't be an Iroquios/Huron/Mohawk, it should be a Mi'kmaq.

For Canada I did two other leaders, Prime Minister Trudeau and Senator Cairine that were old requests. I didn't want do a 3rd Canadian civ, for this reason I choice Quebec :) But as u said, people can add the LH in the game in the civ that they want: Canada, Quebec or maybe a other one.
The Iroquoi style suggestion in the Ancient Era was a suggestion of Corvex, but to change it to a MicMac style it isn't hard. But before do that let's check if more people wanna give opinion about what NA style they would like to see :)

Bonuses could be tricky...for most of its history, Quebec could be said to be 'Religious' and 'Agricultural,' but modern Quebec is probably best described as 'Scientific' and 'Commercial.'
more cities you might add to the list: Shawinigan and Rivierre-du-loup

Uuummm... maybe I can use Religious and Agricultural for C3C and Religious and Scientific for PTW and Vanilla.

trust me i'm fully aware of Champlain's importance in Acadia too... He could just as easily be used for an Acadian civ too ;)

well, it was just something that instantly came to my mind... the Voyageurs used birchbark canoes, some of which were relatively large, but i think they used smaller ones too... they would often carry these on their backs over stretches of land where they couldn't use them in the water... here is a link to a basic picture of how they would carry them, with a larger canoe....

of course i realize that perhaps it's entirely impossible, in fact i don't see how you could do it and incorporate the standard unit movements... it would be pretty strange i think :crazyeye:

OK, but I'm still not completely satisfied with his look on the mid ages era. It's not bad done at all (or otherwise I'd tell you), but it's just that I don't feel it's a faithful representation of what a governor in the New World would have looked like. At this moment he looks more like a simple explorer to me, and while that isn't completely wrong, I think Champlain deserves a better look.

Here's what I'd "like" to see on him: simple, yet distinguished

In case the link doesn't work, any search on google for images of him should retrieve that result (or some similar one)
