Changing Icons

Does anyone know how to chang the icons in Civ III Conquests. What I am trying to do is change the appearance of units for different scenerios, such as replacing the archer icon with an infantry icon, or one of the icons from the other scenerios.

The unit icons are stored in a file called units_32.pcx. It is stored in your /Civilization III/Conquests/Art/Units folder. From there you can see a list of icons, and if you wish, add to them. However, if you are making a scenario rather than editing the main Conquest file, I'll give you some pointers:

-Go in the editor, go to Scenario -> Custom Rules, yes to the warning, and go to Rules -> Edit Rules. The Rules Editor will open.

-Navigate to the units tab. You'll see an input box with up and down arrows. For the number 1, it will display the settler's 'icon'. #2 is worker, #3 is warrior, and so on and so forth.

-For the unit's icon you wish to edit, find that unit, and change it's icon #. Exit out of the rules editor, and go to File -> Save As. Save your scenario in the /Conquests/Scenarios/ folder, and when you load up Conquests, select it from the list of "Civ-Content" scenarios.

This should work, if for any reason it doesn't, or you are having problems, don't hesitate to post. :)

Thank you for the reply. I tried that, and everything looked good in the editor, but after saving the scenerio I created and opening it to play, the new name I gave the unit was still there, but the icons reverted to the original ones. For example, I changed the musketeer to one of the infantry icons used in the WWII scenerio, renamed it Viet Cong, and when I tried to play the scenerio, the icon was back to the musketeer, even though the unit name was now Viet Cong. I went back and tried placing units in the scenerio editor, and the game closes when I try to start it, saying one of the files is missing. I tried adding new units, but still have the same problem when trying to start a new game.
