Changing vanilla leaders background pictures: any tips?

I would like to replace the Leader landscape backgrounds, something like this:

Can someone tell me how difficult it is to do so? I am aware it's probably more than just a DDS texture replace, but if someone is kind enough to give me some guidance I would appreciate it a lot.

Yes, a little more than DDS. And the hardest question is that you want to alter the leaders of the game and not make new ones right?

You have to make a mini-mod, with the dds you create the respective texture in Asset Manager of Modbuddy, and with XLP definition assemble your backgrounds, but in-game ones already built up, you have to try to alter references of leaders backgrounds, probably possible with update set, or delete and insert.
