Now that Great Musicians are part of the game, I think the Choral Music religious belief ought to offer something more specialized than a minor Culture buff on Temples. Here are a few ideas to help the belief fit the Great Work system more closely; of course, not all of them can/should be used together:

  • +1 Faith/turn from Great Musicians; or
  • All Temples provide 1 GP point that increases the chance of earning Musicians; or
  • All Temples (except the Grand one) contain 1 slot for a musical Great Work; or
  • May purchase Choirs (a new religious structure) with Faith. Choirs generate +3 Culture/+2 Faith/+1 Happiness, and provide one slot for a musical Great Work. After Radio has been researched, each Choir raises local Tourism by 1.

Which of the above (individually) feels reasonable for a religion's Follower belief? Which ones could reasonably be combined without making Choral Music overpowered? Please let me know!

I always hoped that the devs would increase the synergy between some of the less-used religious beliefs.
How about this as an alternative to your suggestions.
Choral Music now adds +25% to Great Musician Points in any city with a majority religion.
The Grand Temple now provides +2 culture.
The Grand Temple now gains 2 slots for Great Works of Music with a theming bonus (Music from the same Civ & Era).

This makes the belief much more useful for the religious founder (who has a Grand Temple) then it does for other converted Civs. A tourism bonus for the Grand Temple is a nice little perk for the culture victory strategy.

A good rationale for this is that it indirectly boosts the Piety tree by making Religion more powerful to Civs that actively pursue a religion using that policy tree.
