City placement question

Is it okay to found cities on sites not recommended by the advisor or is that a bad idea?

Thats totally fine, alot of times settling OFF the recommendations is even better than settling on them. Keep an eye out for good tiles (2f/2p) in the first and maybe second ring. Resources and hills/woods (for mines/lumbermills) can be nice, too. Also make sure to have fresh water or at least settle coastl to get some extra housing. If both is options are not possible watch out for aqueducts.
