Yep, my opinion. I can't find anything about such a version.. Even google gives me not the result I hoped for..

It's 70% completed but they stopped development because Infogrames/Atari don't want to give out the franchise.
There are more websites where people make petitions to Infogrames to give that franchise.

You can play Civ1 on a Palm OS device. I have been doing it for several months now and it is nice on trips:)

Here is the website of a free Atari ST simulator for Palm. There is a users forum as well which should help you.

I don't know if this would work on a Pocket PC or not, but I seem to recall there is an Atari emulator for Pocket PC. Anyway, here is the Palm website:

Good luck,

Before starting, you are going to need at leased 3M memory in your Palm device (I use a Clie NX60) for it to work. See threads for compatible Palm devices that work with the emulator. Get it up and running first.

To get the game is a little complicated, but it is doable. Look at the link on the Code Jedi forum which says where to get games. There is an index that lists all of the games. There are four files you need, their numbers are 582-585. (I would provide links but the site seems to be down now). These files are not in the right format so you need to find a program to convert gau files to ST format. Just do a Google search and some programs will pop up. Once converted transfer the files to your memory card, launch the emulator and insert 582 into the floppy disk A (virtual floppy of course). 583 corresponds to disk A, 584 to disk B, 585 to disk C. The emulator will ask you to switch out disks throughout the game.

You will probably need to read some of the forum messages to learn how to navigate the emulator, but I figured it out in an evening without too much problem. Saving your game is a little complicated, but if you get the game running, reply to this message and I will talk you through it. There are some Atari sites which list Civilization in two disks, but these don't work. Get the four disk GAU versions, or use the original game disks and create images. I hope this makes sense, I am not really versed in all of this, but can usually scrape by and figure out how to do things computer related if I am determined.

Sorry, I meant to say .MSA files need to be converted to .ST files, not .GAU files (especially since there is no such thing).
