I got Civ1 for windows on a cd that came with the Oct. issue of Computer Gaming. And I like it!

I know I can print out the manual from the CD, but I was wondering. Those of you who have the original manual that came with the game when it first came out, how does it compare in size, number of pages, and content with the manual I got with Civ2?

Is there an original out there somewhere for sale?

The Civ1 manual is about 6" x 6.5", 128 pages + a 3 page fold out tech tree.
The Civ2 manual is about 7" x 8", 196 pages. The tech tree is a separate poster.
Both are in B/W though the Civ2 manual has a colour cover.

You need the Civ1 manual at the very least to answer the questions set you during the game to ensure you're not a pirate without a manual. Some people also find the leader biographies useful. I think it's worth printing out.

Thanks for describing the original manual for me. Wish I had it!

However, I have now printed out 115 pages of the manual on the CD. It is cumberson not having it in book form, but it is helpful.
