Civ 4 complete not starting up

Like the title says, my civilization 4 complete doesn't want to start up anymore. A few months ago, it worked without problems, but when I tried playing yesterday, the game didn't want to start.

The main problem is that I don't receive any error messages what so ever. When I try starting up any version (vanilla, warlords or BtS), my CPU goes up to about 25% for a few seconds, and after that nothing happens.

I've tried reinstalling the whole thing, but that didn't work neither, and I doubt the dvd-disk I have is causing the problem, since there isn't a scratch on it.

Anyone have any suggestions that might solve my problem?

You just described exactly what started happening to me yesterday. I click the desktop icon, get the swirling cursor like its about to start up, then nothing. I right click, run as administrator, 'allow' the program to start, nothing. I uninstalled then reinstalled. Same thing. It has worked fine from day 1 up until yesterday.
