Civ 4 stretched on wide screen monitor

Just installed Civ 4 on a Dell desktop running Windows 7, 64 bit. The new monitor is a widescreen so now Civ 4 is stretched out. Is there a way to change the "shape" of the Civ 4 window or is there some sort of monitor adjustment I can make?

Set your screen resolution to 1680x1050.

Thank you. I also discovered the civilization ini file and that allows me to specify the game not open to full screen!!

You can also do that from the options menu, under the Graphics tab. Just deselect the 'Full Screen Mode' option.
