version = C3C 1.15 patch
Lately I have been playing a cooperative multiplayer game on Sid level with my girlfriend. It is kind of a learning exercise as well as lots of fun (not a "pure win" of course, but still fun). However, we are experiencing crashes and I am hoping someone can help. We play the game on the local LAN, not via the Internet. The specific message I get is: Civ3conquests has caused an error in CIV3CONQUESTS.EXE. Civ3conquests will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.
The crash will be preceded by errors in the music and sound of the game: it begins to jump, sputter and repeat, and the problem worsens until the crash. The sound begins to deteriorate after about 3 turns of play (around 45 minutes on Sid at this point in the game), and the program will crash 1 to 3 turns later. The problem is not specific to this particular game. It has always crashed on us in Multiplayer. Both systems play the single player game fine.
Here are the hardware/software stats I know, but if more will be helpful, let me know and I will track them down (I would give them all, but this is on her home network and not mine):
Windows ME (yes, I know it sucks, but I havent convinced her to go with XP yet)
Linksys BEFN series router
Dell Laptop (no crash problem)
Dell Dimension Desktop (I believe it is a Celeron 2.4 with 128 mb RAM)
Pretty sure sound is integrated on the MB but not positive.
I would love to hear any advice you might have! Thanks,
Brad
