Civ I screen resolution help

I just got the Chronicles edition and wanted to play the game that got me started all those years ago. But when I started to play on my 19 inch screen it looks horrible! What is the best way to set up either the game, my monitor or my video card to support this game?

I have a 20 inch flat panal monitor. (NOT widescreen.) I set the computer's resolution at 800X600 and it looks just fine.

I have a new Dell XPS 410 (windows xp) It looks just as good on this as it did on my old Dell Dimensions Windows 98 with a flat panal 19 inch monitor.

Both my computers have good Nvidia cards.

Let me know if changing the resolution helps.

Thanks for the reply. I had set my resolution to 640x480. Maybe that was the problem. I'll check it at this setting. I just updated my profile because I see you are from GA. I'm from Jackson. Know where it is?
