The Civilization IV Hall of Fame has been updated - 11 games were accepted since the previous update.

No player was brave enough to take on Deity this update.

Hi Noble Zarkon: I had a game rejected this time. When the game was finished I checked the Start File on the HOF page and got indeed an error in the Version row: "3.19 Unrecognized Install" in Red. But I could still upload and submit the game.

Is this "Unrecognized Install" the reason for rejecting the game, or was there some other issue?

It's weird because the computer and the installation neither of Civ nor of the HOF mod didn't change at all since years, and I see the same "BUFFY 3.19-005 loading..." message like always when I start the game.

I've investigated more now. I have another game running currently, and just checked the Start File, and damn, same error message. (I really have to check the Start Files immediately after the first turn in future. That's kind of disappointing to notice the issue so late...)

I have a Steam install, and re-checked the special notes for Steam users: https://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mod.php?show=steam I'm sure I did all this years ago. But now, the Beta tag 'Original Release – UNSUPPORTED' wasn't set anymore in the Steam library. (Maybe, Steam re-downloaded the game some time ago without me even noticing it, I have no idea...) I reselected the Beta tag now, Steam did indeed download a Civ update, I did a quick fresh game test and the Start File is accepted again.

Unfortunately, the last save of my running game can't be loaded anymore: I see an error message very briefly before Civ is crashing. Anyway, new game, new fun...

Just to share one possible reason for this "Unrecognized Install" error message in the Start File.
