What would be the best buy for the money on a laptop that can handle civ IV.

if you could tell me a few options that would be great that way I could look them up and choose.

BTW if you play Civ IV on a laptop tell me what brand and model and what the market price.

Thanks in advance.

There were already similar threads here, try searching a bit. Basic hints:
- 1GB of RAM (or more)
- avoid integrated graphics (e.g. Intel)

Got an old Centrino 1.4GHz, Intel sucky graphics, 512 MB RAM. This allows playing on low details.

Runs well on my Asus V6V - it used to chug a fair bit on huge maps with say 10-12 civs in the later stages, so I upgraded the RAM to 1.25GB (it had 2 x 256MB chips) for £40 and it's now absolutely fine.

The laptop itself cost about £1000 - don't know what your budget is.

I got a Dell Latitude D620, it's a 14" widescreen with a 256MB Nvidia Quadro NVS 110M video card (64MB dedicated, the rest stolen from system ram). 1.83 Core Duo. Runs Civ4 like a champion!
