Civ IV Vanilla Works Fine, Warlords Won't Even Start

I recently bought Civilization IV via the digital download purchase that gamespot provides, loved it and it worked fine. I just bought the expansion and installed it, but whenever I try to start it, the loading box comes up the screen blacks and then I get the typical Windows error box ("Encountered a problem and needs to close") for Warlords. I've tried reinstalling both the original game and the expansion, as well as updated my video and sound card drivers to no avail. If anybody can help me with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

My system specs are:

OS: Windows XP Home (5.1)
CPU: 2.2 GHz Celeron
RAM: 512 MB
Video: RADEON 9000 128MB
Sound: Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit

EDIT: Everytime I open up the pitboss application, right after Init Python it says "'import site' failed; use -v for traceback." Does anyone know if this could have anything to do with it?

EDITx2: I even reformatted my computer reinstalled everything and reupdated my drivers, still does not work.
 
I found out the problem which is compatability issues between the retail version of Warlords and the company I bought the original Civ IV from. The company I bought it from was through trymedia (gamespot.com's digital download program) which only allows their own expansions to work, the problem is they don't even offer a Warlords download. So to everyone, do not purchase through trymedia, but only direct2drive and retail, which technical support said are the only versions compatable with each other.
 
I have no clue on how to fix it. I just think that you should contact GameSpot and/or Take Two Interactive. You seem to have made everything well, so there may be something wrong that comes from the files you received.
