Civ IV runs fine (I have the D2D version)
I can upgrade to most current patch and the game is golden

Purchased D2D Warlords and try to install it I am able to accept the EULA and the progress bar for installation comes up. After a little while I get error:

CRC Error
CRC error: The File c:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization\Warlords\Mods\Peloponnesian War\Assets\Art\Interface\Main Menu\Pelo89dc.rra doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor.
<ABORT><RETRY><IGNORE>

The path shown changes each time I try and install it. I can click <IGNORE> and it will continue installation, but then pops up again with a different path. This happens several time until I eventually get an error with almost no info and the installation fails. When it fails I get error:

Feature transfer error
Feature: DefaultFeature
Component:
File:
Error:Catastrophic failure
<OK>

I've uninstalled Civ IV and deleted the program files folder, then reinstalled Civ IV, Patch 1.52 and Patch 1.61. The install file comes bundled with 1.09. I have also tried to do an install straight from 1.09 to Warlords, but it prompts me to upgrade to 1.61 when I attempt to install Warlords.

Any thoughts?

I appreciate your reply.

The 1.61 Patch that comes with Warlords pops up an installation wizard. I go through the wizard and I get the same error as above. I am able to run the 1.61 patch that I downloaded and that installs just fine. Still... the overall result is the same.

Thank you.

Maybe the warlords install file is corrupted. Try to redownload it.

I've downloaded it 3 times onto 2 different hard drives. Same error every time.

Try downloading it using a different browser. You can google for more solutions, searching e.g. for "The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted"

Someone in the Warlords forum helped me out. What was happening was the Nvidia Firewall was mangling the exe files as they were being downloaded. I tested it by downloading a couple other exe files and they had the same errors as Warlords did. Turned off the firewall and downloaded the Warlords exe again... BAM!!! Worked like a charm.
