Hey, everyone. I know I don't post here very often, but I browse this forum all the time for FFH news. I was just reading about how the Illians are going to play a larger role in Ice, and it got me thinking about the Genesis ritual. Isn't it counter-intuitive for them? Turning tundra into plains, and snow into tundra? I think that the Illans should get a unique ritual that replaces Genesis, and essentially does it in reverse (you can even double its production speed with Water mana instead of Nature mana). Perhaps something similar could work for the Malakim, with their desert mechanic? Any thoughts on this?

They would need get bonuses from their Civ terrain besides slight combat odds. If the idea was implemented as is, you'd probably end up starving your empire and ruining your economy.

I'm saying this with the hope that ice and tundra terrain will somehow benefit the Illians in Ice with more than a defense bonus.

=P how bout a ritual that does turn some random tiles "colder" on a global scale instead so everyone else suffers more XD

The screenshots Kael recently released seem to indicate that such a ritual would possibly not be as bad for the Illians as one might think; a couple of the screenies had ice tiles with improbably high food yields.

My guess would be that much like in Age of Ice, Blizzards spread cold tiles.

Those screens also make the argument kind of moot, since they suggest that Illian priests can make Tundra tiles anyway.

A ritual to do it on every tile would still be nice. It could even add blizzards to tiles that are Ice already (as opposed to Genesis adding trees to tiles).
