I've moved forward (backward?) and have Windows XP. I'm pleased that it had no trouble running Civ. A big improvement over other Windows I've played with. But I can't get it to play sound except through the beep speaker (2 IBM Sounds). It sounds awful and I remember Civ as having very nice sound for its time. Anyone gotten one of the better sound settings working on a modern computer (integrated sound) with Windows XP? Please post suggestions. The beep speaker is annoying!
