Hello! Sometimes when I am playing the game will randomly freeze for no apparent reason. It's not too big of an issue because it doesn't happen too often and I save enough to where I can just shut it down and restart, but I'd prefer if it never happened at all. So yeah, the game freezes, but the music keeps playing. By the way, I'm playing on the newest version of a Mac Book Pro, with all the graphics settings at low/minimum. And every time the game "freezes" (still don't understand why the music doesn't freeze with the game) my fan kicks in and goes into overdrive and the computer gets EXTREMELY hot. Any idea what's going on?

It gets too hot. Like any laptop gets too hot when playing a demanding game. Especially CiV where you find yourself playing for hours and hours while being extremely demanding on high settings. Try turning down shaders and shadows, that should help a bit. Leader scenes (diplo screen animation) is also extremely demanding, might wanna turn that graphic option down too.
(Then again the freeze might also occur due to Mac versions of Games usually being even more buggy then the Windows versions).

I don't think heat is the problem. Whenever the game freezes the bottom of my computer isn't very hot. Everything freezes randomly (except for the music which continues) and I have to shut down the entire computer and restart. I've turned down every setting possible in the graphics and made sure the laptop is ventilated well. Any more ideas why this is happening?
