Civ4 black screen

Sometimes when i play civilization 4 everything works fine but sometimes i get this black screen. i dont see any of the bottom toolbar but i see the warrior icon. the screen if completely black except for the warrior icon and then the music stops and alt ctrl delete doesnt work so i have to shut off the computer. what do i do????

I am having the same issue.

I never had this issue with CIV4 until I loaded Warlords.

Now, I did play a barbarian game for 5 hours without issues, since loading the new patch, it has happened twice on me. I think there is an issue with the newest patch.

Is there a way to roll it back to confirm this?
