all of them but #1.

Can anybody help?

Thanks Scott

Yeah, maybe, but as I've mentioned before; it includes Civnet, which isn't exactly what was advertised...:deal:

you i live in edmonton alberta and have never came across civ chronicles pack does any one know where in edmonton i could get my hands on it.. i dnt have a credit card so icant buy it on line ...unless they can receive money orders thanks:)

I pick Romans due to good starting location on EARTH, easily visible high contrast color (white), and general appropriateness with the Greco-Roman theme of the game.

I usually SHIFT-Click on the list of civs to choose a random color and the ability to rename; I used to rename the civ something snappy, but recently I've taken to naming it the White Team, or the Blue Team, or Black Team, and so on. Gives it a capture-the-flag sort of feel :shifty:

On Earth I agree with Whelkman that the Roman start is exceptionally strong. This is due to the fact that Blue is guaranteed to be just a couple squares away as either France or Germany; Pink, Green, Yellow, and Black all have a 50/50 chance of being close as well. Blue and Pink can be captured with your first militia (or even a settler, if you start with two), and the others can be mowed down with Chariots practically before 3000.

Blue is spawned at city size 2 and their proximity grants the Romans an extra Settler, which is best used for a quick and cheap conquer. This completely obviates the age old question, "Keep the extra Settler or found an extra city?" Well, why not have both?

Also, the Romans' geography provides natural protection against nearby civs. Even if the English are involved, you'll still have time to knock out the rest of the nearby Indo-Europeans, and, with eliminating the Russians by default, the other closest competition becomes the peace-loving Indians. Everyone else needs to either cross an entire continent or the sea. Finally, there are excellent choke points when considering both land and sea invasions.

A caveat: Rome's location is as mediocre as it gets. Pray for coal else it's the single forest tile providing resources in the short term. The hills take forever to mine, which isn't really worth it when you'd be better off sending the settler to build another city.
