Civilization 4 in POLAND - finally

I just want to share my happienest that Poland will have a release on 4th November . There would be nothing special in that but few days ago we even had no polish distibutor...

But now everything is ok.

BTW - are there any Poles here on forum?

You can also buy it on-line from various stores. See this thread. And don't forget the link cd-wow.nl under Europe which also ships to Poland.

I expect standard edition will cost here ca. $35...

The question is "Is Pre-Order edition worth paying 2x" ?

I am huge Civ fan since Civ1 on Amiga. So I probably won't cancel my Civ4PE order

Personally I don't think the pre-order version is worth paying $67 (PLZ 220) versus PLZ 110-120 for domestic mail order or in-store purchase, not to mention that you won't get it earlier either with the international shipping.

Obviously the game will be the same game. The main differences are that you get box that some find fancier, and you get a spiral bound manual instead of a glued manual. Wow

Well, SuperSmurf, check out the international pre-order thread and find out about all the non-Amazon stores that have Civ4 for you. If you're in Europe - your location is unlisted -, there's a good chance you can get it for 29 euro indeed.

Finally I feel that Poland is a part of Europe, it's the first game that I know that will be released here at the same time as in the rest of Europe.

EDIT: The release date here is 10th of November. Even if it's true, it's not a big delay, I'm still happy

If you look in the international web order thread you'll see another Polish shop that mentions 2 Nov, but I cannot read all the Polish on the site.

It's even worse - I am not sure if can run it on my laptop. It has no hardware T&L. This is company laptop

Recently I have sold on local e-bay-like web site my Civ3 Special Edition (metal box) for 100 PLN (ca. $30). Those special editions don't lose its value here in Poland. I am hardcore fan and don't play any computer games except Civ. Started with Civ1/Amiga ages ago.

I only worry if US edition (which is Pre-Order one) will be compatible with future Expansion Packs sold in Europe. I wouldn't like to order them from US on-line shops.

Never mind. I have pre-ordered special edition at ebgames.com in the US. I was just surprised to see such a low price. Usually store and online prices are between 45 and 50 €, so you have to wonder how they can do that.

Apolyton reports play.com also offers it for less than 30 € with free shipping within Europe.
